Last Man Standing - Recap and Results

Last Man Standing brought a night of amateur fighting to 4 Seasons Mixed Martial Arts in Lexington. A night that was slated for a full fight card was whittled down to 9 fights due to no show fighters. Jason Jones and company made the best out of the situation and still put on several exciting fights. I can only imagine how hard it was to scramble last minute to fill out the card but in a rare occurrence the majority of the fights went to a decision.

Don't Call It A Comeback - Absolute Action MMA XVII

Is it just me or does it feel like Absolute Action has been away from Florence too long. Whats crazy is that it really hasn't been that long. We were cage side for one of the best fight cards of the year on June 18th.  In  July the ventured to Somerset but finally they have returned to Florence. Not only have they returned but they kick things up a notch by upgrading to a new venue. Absolute Action MMA will be holding AAMMA XVII at Sports of All Sorts off of Mt. Zion Rd in Florence. This card features 4 amatuer title fights and 2 professional bouts. Great local gyms are being represented such as Reaction MMA, Son of Siam and Jorge Gurgel's Mixed Martial Arts Academy.  The UFC's Shemar Bailey will be at the weigh in's and at the event. If you can't make it out you can still catch the action on http://www.gfl.tv . Tickets still available with very few VIP seats remaining at http://www.aamma.net. Another Fight Week In The Commonwealth

The great thing about Kentucky MMA is that there are ample amounts of opportunity to witness live action each weekend. This weekend is no different. Bluegrass MMA will be covering two very different types of shows that both promise to bring excitement and entertainment.

Last Man Standing is an amateur only show but is bringing in talent from Morehead to Louisville. UNICA MMA fighters Joey Donahew and Billy Poe return to action after several months. Ray Korb brings his talent from Louisville to battle in Lexington. Last Man Standing is building up steam with each show they produce. Kentucky professional fighter Jason Jones handles the match making duties and is proving to be quite talented. Jason and the cast of Last Man Standing will join us for Bluegrass MMA Live and discuss the show as well as the future of Last Man Standing in general.

Absolute Action XVII is yet another example of how Billy Donovan puts together a great fight card. If you pay attention you will notice that he can bob and weave his way through adversity and still give the fans a full card. This event is titled "STACKED" for a reason.  Four amateur title fights highlight the card as well as 2 professional fights including Georgetown MMA's Tyrelle Olding who is looking to get in the win column as a professional and fan favorite Chris Bennett.  This will be an excellent show and look for the Florence crowd to be pleased with the new venue at Sports of All Sorts.

Full coverage of both events is going down this week right here and we look forward to bringing you all the action!
