Our crystal ball says....

Friday is here and we are sitting just over 24 hours away from UFC 126. I have been waiting on this card for awhile considering that when Anderson Silva squeaked out a 5th round win over Sonnen I damn near threw my TV out the window. No doubt he is pound for pound one of the best the sport has ever seen. You will never hear me dispute that fact. I just hate that swagger, that laziness and that lack of respect he brings with him.  Ok there is my rant. As you know please do not take any of our predictions seriously. We are wrong 85% of the time.

  • Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto vs Demetrious " Mighty Mouse" Johnson

Watching live on Facebook you should be able to see Kentucky born, Washington raised Demetrious Johnson do work on Norifumi "Kid" Yamamoto. Even though nothing I could find linked Johnson to KY other than his UFC profile I have to give the edge to him. At 12-1-0 and coming off of a submission win in the WEC I think he can overcome the Bantamweight newcomer to the UFC and score 2nd round submission  victory

  • Chad "Money" Mendes vs  Michihiro Omigawa
How this fight got booked I'll never know. Omigawa coming in with 2 losses on his UFC resume against undefeated WEC fighter Mendes. Medes wins this one easily by knockout early.

  • Donald " Cowboy" Cerrone vs Paul "Tellys" Kelly
I like Cerrone. He never could get past Ben Henderson but he beat Jamie Varner and is a tough cookie. Kelly is from across the pond and will be a good matchup. Kelly knows what its like to dance in the big league but it doesn't help him Saturday. Cerrone wins this by decision.

  • Miguel Angel Torres  vs  Antonio Banuelos
2 guys with a ton of fights between them. Banuelos has never finished a fight with a KO or submission. I like Torres via submission in the 3rd.

  • Jon "Bones" Jones vd Ryan "Darth" Bader
I bought this PPV to see this fight. This is a main event in itself. In my mind the winner of this fight is the future Lightweight Champion.  Jones is young but has put in work fighting. He's beat Bonnar. He's lost to Hammil. He's fought enough to learn from his mistakes and will only improve with age. Bader is raw talent. He's a champion. He's beat guys like Jardine and Nogueira. This should be a slug fest. I don't see it going past the 2nd round. I give this to Bader via KO and also say both fighters get the fight of the night honors. Bader walks away with Knockout of the Night. All is good with the world!

  • Forest Griffin vs Rich "Ace" Franklin
Loser gets tattooed. Loser leaves town? This is a must win in my book for these guys. They were both huge in their day and have no doubt helped propel this sport to where it is today. They are legends and both were champions. These guys however will not sustain their level of fighting and I believe that this will be the year that one of them retires. I like Forrest in this one. Probably a decision.

  • Main Event  Anderson "The Spider" Silva vs Vitor Belfort
Brutal honesty here. Silva wins easily whenever and however he wants. The middleweight belt stays in the Silva camp. I hope I am wrong.

We will be twittering throughout the fight. Give us a shout on twitter, email or leave us a comment right here.

  1. Well Dump I am going to have to disagree and possiably agree with you on the Silva, Belfort match. I am not saying Silva will lose because you would be an idiot to say that the Spider is going to lose especially if you are a betting man. Of course if I were betting on the fight I would pick belfort because if he did win it would be a much better payday than if you betted on Silva too win. But I have been watching Belfort fight now for years now even when he started mma and to say that Silva wins easy just makes me want to send out an apology out to our blog readers that our man blogger DUMP would even post such a comment. I think if Anderson Silva wins this match it will be one of his best performances ever because Belfort is considered the best counter puncher in the mma world and if Anderson sticks that chin of his is in Belfort's face he will get knocked out but this should make for a great fight as long as silva dont run from him for 5 rounds and wins by decision.

  2. Dave I know you have a man crush on Vitor but he will be no better of a match up than Demian Maia was. Face it Silva is the best pound for pound fighter out there right now at Middleweight. Thats not gonna change until Bill Poe Jr. drops weight and gets in the cage with him. Period.
